Seesaw

You can access Seesaw from your child's Clever account.  Seesaw is both a learning site where the kids will complete assigned activities and it is a documentation site where they will document their offline learning as well.

Once you open Seesaw you will be able to see the lessons that have been assigned to your child.  There are picture and voice instructions for each lesson.  As the children become more familiar with the program they will be able to use it more independently.

Waterford

Waterford is also accessed through Clever.  There are TWO different Waterford activities you child must complete daily.  Each day they will complete a 15 minute lesson in Waterford Reading Academy and a 15 minute lesson Waterford Math & Science.  These can be done at one time or you can split up them into 2 different sessions during the day.

We STRONGLY recommend encouraging your child to complete the full 15 minute lesson before stopping.  Stopping early or pausing for more than 2 minutes will result in the program not saving the work completed.  There is a STOP sign that indicates when the child's lesson is over.  Ignore the countdown clock at the bottom and have them work till they "get the stop sign".

Please provide as little help as possible.  Waterford can be frustrating, but providing them too much assistance results in the program advancing them too fast.  The program adjusts it's level based on accuracy, fluency and rate of response.  When children are advanced too quickly (usually because someone is helping them) the progress becomes too hard and the kids end up frustrated and discouraged.

If you find the programs are too hard for you child and they are unable to work through them, please contact Ms. Christine or Ms Leah during office hours and we can discuss if there are other options available for your child.
